MILLARD E. HADEL

(April 28, 1923 - November 3, 2018)

        

Millard E. Hadel, age 95, of Marriottsville, MD died Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Carroll Hospital. Born April 28, 1923 he was a lifelong resident of Carroll County. Millard was the devoted son to the late William A. Hadel and Lydia B. (Sandusky) Hadel. He served in the US Army in World War II having served in the Philippines and Japan. Millard enjoyed fishing, music and playing the guitar (by ear) and was a great yodeler. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Sykesville Post #223. Surviving are niece and husband, Deborah and Walt Kowalski of Sykesville, great-niece Alexandra Kowalski of New Market and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings and their spouses. His late sister Catherine Arnold of Woodbine, brother William Hadel of Marriottsville, brother Marvin Hadel of Baltimore and brother Harry D. Hadel, Sr. of Eldersburg. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 10 to 11am at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11am. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
